Filmhouse Cinema welcomes tons of visitors to over 10 locations in Nigeria every year. Do you know they’re now the biggest cinema chain in Nigeria and the third largest in Africa? It all started with a small 3-screen cinema in Surulere, Lagos, and now they’ve got cinemas all over the country.

Filmhouse Cinema at Lekki Lagos
Back in 2016, Filmhouse opened up an awesome branch in Lekki. Unlike their other branches, this came with a big IMAX screen, a chill lounge, and a rooftop restaurant. It’s right there on The Rock Drive, Off Bisola Durosinmi-Etti Drive in Lekki Phase 1. It sits on a piece of land that’s about 3,700 square meters.
Now, what’s IMAX? It’s short for ‘Image Maximum,’ and it’s like a super-duper cool movie experience. It can show images way bigger and clearer than regular movie technologies. And guess what? You can catch not only 3D but also 2D movies at this cinema.
Filmhouse teamed up with IMAX Corporation in June 2015, and only a few African countries (Morocco, Egypt, Angola, and South Africa) have these IMAX cinemas. So, it’s pretty special.
And hey, they’ve got a comfy spot to chill before your movie starts – think of it like a lounge. Plus, inside the mall, there’s this cool place called HANS and RENE where you can grab some yummy ice cream. And if you’re feeling fancy, there’s a restaurant upstairs with some delicious treats.
